I’m just back from an exhausting week end in Melbourne – no, not at the Grand Prix, but at times it felt like it (fast paced and intense). No, I was at St Kilda Town Hall where I was exhibiting at Portobello Bridal Market- a Bridal Expo.
For those of you who know me, you’ll know this is a most unlikely pairing – me at a bridal expo. Am I feverish?
I was actually exhibiting on behalf of Mandala Wines who were sponsoring the expo. Me and my favourite winery – a far more understandable proposition.
It fortunately wasn’t a ‘bride-zilla’ affair – after all it was at St Kilda Town Hall which is much more aesthetically pleasing and agreeable than a Convention Centre and holds far fewer exhibitors, so you’re immediately onto a winner with that. The other exhibitors were very artistic and great to chat to, we all wandered from stand to stand, admiring one another’s products and creativity. And the bride’s to be were the right demograph for our businesses, so it was well matched by Blue Bird Events and Portobello.
So my thanks and congratulations to Portobello Bride for a very successful inaugural expo, to Erin at Bluebird for being such a great event manager, to Letters to Vince for being the best neighbouring exhibitor, to the band The White Tree who soothed us with their mellow vibes, and Siobhan Donoghue for bringing some Canadian class to the week end. To Georgie from Georgeous, who is as gorgeous as her name suggests and to Julie at sweet cup cakes and treats for bringing me beautiful cookies. To Ed Dixon for the much appreciated and great tasting coffee and lunch each day and to Fenton and Fenton for showing me how cool the right linen on a chair can truly be.
Paige at Lyall Hotel, I look forward to hearing I’ve won the competition to stay at your beautiful hotel. And Mandala thanks for commissioning me to go and represent you and your fabulous brand at what turned out to be a fun week end.
Bed is calling, feet need to point toes up for a while.
